Sean Smith

Sean Smith was born in Steubenville, Ohio, yet was raised and currently resides in southside Indianapolis. He is currently a student attending IUPUI, a 2nd year undergraduate in the BSMT Program, pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Technology. His musical inclination resulted in involvement in his middle and high school’s concert bands, as well as various recording endeavors with local acts, acting either as a session musician or an established member.

In late high school, the birth of his musical group ‘Maccogallo’ led Smith to begin to utilize DAWS and various electronic techniques to record and release the band’s works, which still continue today. The moniker ‘Hand’ is currently being used for his solo work, consisting of sample-based electronic compositions that employ ambient atmospheres and occasional
digitally-processed acoustic additions, as well as AI generated additions.

Smith aims to further the accuracy and honesty of expression for all projects involved through the development of unconventional production, composition, and engineering skills.
